Vegan Holiday Recipe Round Up
Planning end-of-the-year holiday meals can be totally overwhelming so here are some great options to feature in your menu! There's apps, sides, mains, desserts, and of course a few drinks to round it out.
Starters and Snacks
Now, I've been known to go a little later than planned with getting dinner on the table, so it's always a good idea to have some snacks available for your guests!
Have you been missing this quirky app from your pre-vegan days? This Pistachio-Rosemary Vegan Cheese Ball fills that void in the BEST way!
Fondue makes for a fun appetizer to be shared among friends, whether for a dinner party or a game night! "When I was a kid in Michigan, ordering crab rangoon was a staple for the table when we went out for Chinese food. When I moved to NYC, I remember being so disappointed to discover this was not a typical item on Chinese menus. Needless to say, it was my mission to re-create these for very personal reasons. Hearts of palm give it the texture usually provided by the crab, but let’s face it, it’s that luscious cream cheese with the crunchy wonton everyone loves!" Creamy quinoa jalapeño poppers topped with smoky chipotle coconut bacon. Dreamy is an understatement!

These breaded mushrooms are the lighter version of one of my favorite bar foods! Made in the air fryer, they come together easily and with minimal oil.
"The vegan restaurant of my dreams serves this Spinach Artichoke Dip piping hot with chips and crisp vegetables. Until I find that restaurant, I will make my own. Soaked cashews and vegan cream cheese give this dish an extra-creamy base, while nutritional yeast and vegan parmesan cheese add plenty of rich, cheesy flavor. My favorite way to enjoy this dip is with tortilla chips. However, toasted baguette and vegetables are delightful as well."
Need another use for lentils? Try out these Air Fryer BBQ Lentil Meatballs! Chewy and flavorful on the inside, while slightly crunchy on the outside, then slathered in your favorite BBQ sauce.
Vegan Soups + Salads
Just because the tastiest of the holiday foods are usually brown/beige in color doesn't mean you can't incorporate some brightly colored soups and salads!
Rich in flavor, but with limited ingredients, this cabbage roll soup is sure to satisfy. It makes a wonderful weekday meal, too, because it takes 30 minutes!

Side Dishes
I would have a holiday meal of only sides most years, if I could. The side dishes are inarguably the best part!!
"Growing up, shake and bake was a thing, and if you’re not familiar, that may make you luckier than I. It was exactly what it sounds like: shake things in a bag and bake them, though the ingredients were questionable. Here you can make your own version, but with Brussels and bacon – two of my favorite “b” foods." Recipe shared with permission by Quarto Publishing, Copyrighted 2018 Vegan Yack Attack on the Go!

Need a last-minute side? This coconut-creamed kale is both incredibly delicious and a bit unique with its hints of ginger and coconut!

Yes, I'm a super-fan of sides, but I do get down with a great main dish! Here are some protein-rich seitan entrees, plus some gluten-free options to boot.
"Sometimes, you just need a recipe that you can set and forget. My mother used to make slow cooker dishes all the time, when I was younger – a lot of which were roasts of some kind. So, I took a note from her playbook, and made my delicious seitan round into a beautiful, hearty slow cooker roast." Recipe reprinted from Vegan Yack Attack On the Go! with permission.
