This post is in partnership with So Delicious, all words and opinions are my own. I don’t feature products that I do not like. Posts like these help me to keep this blog, and more recipes coming your way!
You may have seen the news already, but if you haven’t there’s a new vegan dessert in town! This So Delicious Frozen Mousse is NO JOKE, and I’m here to tell you what I think about it.
To say I’ve been a fan of So Delicious products since I went vegan would be an understatement. I’m a huge fan of ice cream, so theirs was my first exposure to vegan versions and I couldn’t believe how great it was! Ever since, I’ve used and loved many of their products, so I got really excited when they reached out about their NEW So Delicious Frozen Mousse.
I have a friend or two that are pretty deep in the natural foods industry, so I knew that something like this was launching. And before getting into the nitty-gritty of the products, it’s a lot like their CocoWhip, but swirled with ribbons of goodness. Honestly, I think it’s freakin’ genius. I can easily polish off a pint of their Snickerdoodle flavor in one sitting, if I’m not paying attention. So, it’s nice to have an alternative that is less calorie-dense, but still satiates my sweet tooth.
Let’s dive right in, shall we? I got 3 flavors from my local Smith’s, though they should be getting into a variety of stores, right now. Namely, Kroger, Walmart, and others, so just call your local grocer to see if they’ve landed! Anyway, the 3 flavors I got were Peanut Butter Swirl, Lemon Swirl, and Salted Caramel Swirl, yummmm.
I’d like to start with traits that covered all three So Delicious Frozen Mousse flavors, before addressing the specifics of each one. Looking at the ingredients, you see that the base is coconut oil with sweetener. Even with that, the coconut flavor is not prominent, which I really appreciate! (Note: this product is not for the WFPB/Oil-free crowd.) The texture is super fluffy, but denser than say, canned whip. But, because it is so airy, it defrosts at room temperature fairly quickly. As much as I love desserts, I don’t go for SUPER sweet treats, and felt that this mousse really nailed the balance perfectly. Now, onto the flavors!
First up, Lemon Swirl! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but when I took my first spoonful, nostalgia of frozen lemonade tied with lemon meringue pie washed over me. The lemon flavor in the mousse base was subtle, while there was a large vein of something similar to delicious lemon curd running through the pint. I seriously wish I had vegan graham crackers on hand, because this would have been amazing topped with crumbles of it.
Topped with fresh berries, this easily becomes a pleasant post-dinner treat. Maybe pair it with some vegan pound cake? Either way, I’m really loving how versatile these mousses are.
Next, Peanut Butter Swirl. I LOVE peanut butter, like, a lot. So, of course I picked up this flavor to try. Typically, I like my peanut butter a little saltier when incorporated into desserts, but still enjoyed this sweeter version. The swirls of PB were well-distributed, so you got thin ribbons of it in every bite. I ended up topping this flavor with chopped salted peanuts and chocolate chips, for some PB cup vibes. Delish! Also noteworthy, I find that peanut butter desserts are usually on the more decadent side – in terms of calories. But, this whole pint is only 330 calories!
I saved the best So Delicious Frozen Mousse for last, Salted Caramel Swirl. Oooooh man. Whatever salty dessert goodness I had wanted from the PB swirl was more than covered by this flavor! The swirls of salted caramel were PERFECTLY salty and buttery. I’ve had some other vegan salted caramel products that sometimes show too much restraint, but this one was like, POW! Along with the caramel, there were small chocolate pieces littered throughout the pint. They really complemented this fluffy, sweet mousse base with their texture and flavor.
While I find this flavor perfect on its own, it’s great to dip strawberries into. BUT, if you want to take it to the next level, put a hefty dollop of the mousse on your morning coffee, and get a less-saccharin version of a barista drink that you never knew you needed. Seriously, it’s been a game-changer for me.
All in all, I was super pleased with these new So Delicious frozen mousse products and have already shared them with some friends! Aside from these three flavors, SD also offers Mango, Chocolate Chip, Strawberry, and Cranberry Cherry Swirl. I’m definitely trying to find the rest of them, now! And, pro tip: you can sign up for So Delicious’s Newsletterto get coupons, if you ever want to try out their products.

Damn, I'm still dying to just FIND this stuff in stores! One pint is a standard serving for me as is, so it would be nice to finally eat this one as intended. ;)

I was stoked to have found it at Smith's near me! (which is Kroger elsewhere) The natural food stores don't seem to have it yet. Best of luck in your search!!
