It’s here! It’s here! Today’s the release date of my second cookbook, Vegan Yack Attack On the Go! Quick recipes, make-ahead recipes, lunch, and recipes for on the move; this book has it all. I’m so excited for everyone to get it, as it’s awesome for beginners and experienced cooks, alike.
In today’s post I’m going to cover a few things:
- Give you more info on the book/what’s inside
- Talk about the press launch party
- Link to some recipes that are live and public!
- Lastly, GIVE AWAY ONE COPY of Vegan Yack Attack On the Go! to a lucky winner! Woohooooo!
Real quick, let me describe the chapters for you! First, a short intro, then “Vegan Made Easy” which gives you tips on stocking your pantry, kitchen tools, and some tips. Third, “Quick Breakfasts, Snacks, and Treats”, which have a mix of time-saving ways to start and end your day. Next, “Prep-Ahead” recipes, and “Lunchbox Stuffers”, both of which are filled with travel-friendly recipes. I’d qualify these lunches as great for high school and college students, plus those that work full-time in an office!
Chapter 5 is “Meals in 30 minutes or less,” which holds quite a few of my favorite recipes in the book. If you’re looking for dishes that can be made in bulk, either for a large party of people, or just for meal-prepping for the week, Chapter 6 is for you! Just in time for summer, Chapter 7 is “Meals On-the-Move”, where you prep the first part at home, and finish the cooking elsewhere; tons of grill-friendly recipes here. Lastly, “Make Your Own Staples” holds the key to making simple sauces, and proteins that you can use again and again.
Now, there are 105 recipes in this book, so I’m not going to cover each one, but I will talk about some of the ones I made for the press launch party! For my last book, I held it at Pollution Studios which was super fun, but this time.. we had it at the Sowden House in Los Feliz. Can you say, “UPGRADEEEE”?! The owners are amazing, and the venue was an experience in its own right.
I had the help of a few amazing sponsors to recreate the Antipasto Chop Salad, Coconut BLT+P, and Green Enchilada Casserole, from the book! Follow Your Heart Provolone & Sweet Earth Seitan Strips in the salad, and Melissa’s Produce in nearly everything. Plus, Ripple Non-Dairy Chocolate milk in the Fudge Brownie Cherry Parfait I made for dessert (inspired by the Chocolate Cherry Cups recipe in Vegan Yack Attack On the Go!), and a boozy Mocha on the Rocks drink. Honestly, I’m getting hungry again just typing about it. Of course, VegNews sponsored an issue of the magazine in each swag bag, too!
While there were MANY hiccups in the process of getting the party together, it ended up being such a fun time, and makes me eternally grateful for what I get to do, day-in and day-out. Now, below are some recipes that have already been shared to the world! (There will be many more, so keep track on the book page to stay updated)
Summer Stew on Vegans, Baby!
Asparagus Omelet in a Bag on Live Kindly
Cauliflower Grill Packets on Veggies Save the Day
And I’ve shared the Portobello Fajita Salad
Another exciting thing happened! Amazon featured #VYAonthego (that’s the hashtag on social media) in their best cookbooks for the month of July. I was ELATED to find that email in my inbox!
You’ve reached the end! Finally, we’re at the giveaway portion of this post. 😉 Enter below if you are a US resident, ages 18 & older. And if you don’t want to wait for the giveaway, order the book on Amazon, or find it in Barnes & Noble, Whole Foods, or wherever books are sold!
